Paneer Butter Masala
Paneer Butter Masala comes to my mind when we talk about one of the simplest yet satiating Indian recipe. This is one of the most popular dishes from the North Indian cuisine and relished across the country. It is commonly known as Butter Paneer.

Paneer Butter Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
Homemade Paneer cubes 200 grams
Oil 3 tablespoon
Butter 2 tablespoon
Onions sliced 3 to 4 medium sized
Tomatoes 3 medium sized
Whole Cashew nuts 10 to 15
Ginger 1 inch piece
Garlic 5 to 6 cloves
Elaichi 2 to 3
Green Chillies 2 or 3 slit
Bay leaf (Tej Patta) 1
Turmeric 2 pinch
Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander power 1/3 teaspoon
Jeera powder 1/4 teaspoon
Garam masala 1/4 teaspoon
Kasuri methi 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
Low fat cream or whipped cream 2 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing 1 tablespoon
Preparation Steps for Paneer Butter Masala:
Take a pan and heat one tablespoon of oil on medium flame. Add sliced onions and saute them till they are pink in colour.
Add tomatoes and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add cashew nuts, ginger, garlic and elaichi.
Add 1/4 cup of water to it and boil.
Switch off the flame and let the prepared mixture cool completely.
Grind the mixture into a fine paste.
Take a kadai or a deep pan and place it on a medium flame. Add two tablespoons of oil, butter, tej patta, cinnamon and clove.
Add prepared paste to the pan, saute for two minutes and then add spices to it. Boil and check the consistency of the gravy. If it is thick, add water accordingly.
Cover the pan and cook the gravy until it turns thick. Add salt to taste.
Time to add paneer cubes to the gravy and gently mix.
Take Kasuri methi into your palm, crush it and add it to Paneer Butter Masala.
Stir well on low flame and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add cream to the gravy and switch off the flame.
Garnish Paneer Butter Masala with cream and coriander leaves.
Serve prepared Paneer Butter Masala with Paratha, Butter Naan or Jeera Rice!
